Little luxuries in life make this girl’s day. One of those is having an appointment to have my hair done. Like most women I know, I enjoy having a date on my calendar when I know I’ll have a “Me Moment.” Or a spontaneous walk-in where I leave with a refreshed head of hair. I think that’s the brilliance behind a blow-dry bar; it’s a fast, inexpensive treat that has long-lasting effects. Particularly if you maintain it with a couple of products specifically meant to prolong the life of the blowout.
The team behind Paper Dolls Wedding Hair and Makeup, Carrie McLeod Algeo and Shayla Battle are the hardworking masterminds who launched Mount Pleasant’s first blow-dry bar. Blowout is conveniently located in the Shelmore Village shopping center, just outside of the I’on neighborhood.
My blowout was with Elizabeth, who kept me educated and entertained throughout the service. My appointment was easily made with their online scheduler (found on their website). I was able to choose the service I wanted, and I added the deep conditioning treatment. They use an entire line of products from Kenra to help prolong the life of the service: shampoo, conditioners, hair serums, hair sprays, and a fabulous dry shampoo. For the color-treated among us, they are big advocates for the Olaplex line. It helps keep hair healthy between chemical treatments.
Thank you, Blowout Mount Pleasant, for a wonderful service. I’ll be back. . .
What a fun idea for bridal or bachelorette parties! So happy to see this new store in Mt. P!
