I’m a toucher when I work. I forewarn my clients that “I’ll be all up in your business. . .” which is to say that I invade personal space when I work. It’s the nature of what I do, and I know no other way.
I have many, many brushes, as do most working makeup artists. But sometimes, the warmth of fingers on skin is a mode that no brush can accomplish. Fingertips warm products, emulsify creams and liquids, and help them sink into skin like nothing else.
It’s also the human touch aspect. . . the warmth of my life force helping meld these products onto a client’s face. It’s personal & engaging and energizing or calming, and one of the many reasons I love doing what I do.
I touch.
