A couple of weeks ago she arranged for me to have open access to see all that goes on behind the scenes to ensure the Emerging Designers’ visions are met with a beauty interpretation that matches their fashion aesthetic. It was my pleasure to see and hear all that goes on backstage to make this happen. ABP Makeup‘s simultaneous launch of Lip Sheers was a timely addition to each makeup artist’s arsenal of tools to help prepare them to recreate each pre-designed look. The above video is a clip that shows how ABP uses one lip sheer to multi-task lip and cheek color. Following are some pics that show her crew, “Team ABP” in action. Thank you to all of Team ABP for your hospitality and warm reception of me and my daughter, Livi. Thank you to Charleston Magazine for creating such a fun annual event. Thank you to all the sponsors who help make this happen for our community.

Ashley Brook doesn’t stop moving as she checks in with models in the holding area.

Here’s the original 7-shade lineup. My personal fave, “Wifey”, a beautiful pink-coral-nude.

Ashley + her “Right Hand” stand in front of an inspiration board, which are important pieces of info for the H/MU Team. Each board spells out the designer, the hair look and the makeup look. Artists reference them continually throughout the prep and show.

Look closely at this model’s “knotted” ponytail and the red stripe across her eyes. Avant garde!

MUAs, Barbie and Lisa, on the makeup side. Hair stylists on the other side.

Belk, a sponsor of CFW, provides lots of the cosmetics used for the show: Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, Clinique.

I’m not aware of any makeup show that does not use some kind of MAC product. Pictured here, a lineup of lip liners used in conjunction with ABP Lip Sheers. Results: GORGEOUSNESS!

I was so happy to have my daughter, Livi, join me for this night of Beauty Adventure. It wouldn’t have been complete without a shot on the “red carpet.”
