Have you seen the newest highlighter pens? And I don’t mean the fluorescent Sharpies used to highlight textbook passages. These are clickable pens that contain a concealer-like product you apply to your freshly-made up face. They are a wonderful addition to your makeup wardrobe, with a specific purpose: they are a great touch-up tool. Don’t confuse these with concealers even though their creamy, flesh-tones may appear to be just that. They are luminating products that act as a highlighter for areas of darkness on your face. Best used together with your favorite concealer, they provide the slightly shimmery “bump” to your concealer that lightens areas under eyes, tops of cheekbones, and brow bones. One of my favorite uses is around the lip line to give definition and a clean look to freshly applied lips. Each pen houses a brush tip through which the product flows. Although many cosmetics lines offer some version of this product, here are a few of note. Keep one in your makeup bag for touch-ups on the go. These products are very portable and a great way to freshen up mid-day or after a meal.
